In cooperation with CollectionsWeb, the Research Coordination Network (RCN) for Building a National Community of Natural History Collections, ECN is trying to update and add information to an existing database of natural history collections.

Eventually, CollectionsWeb plans to conduct a survey of natural history collections as part of the RCN mentioned above. The details from this database will be useful for implementing the survey. Also, I plan to eventually give this database a slicker interface and make it a permanent fixture on the ECN website. It would be a useful tool for researchers and collection managers.
