In cooperation with CollectionsWeb, the Research Coordination Network (RCN) for Building a National Community of Natural History Collections, ECN is trying to update and add information to an existing database of natural history collections. Please go here to register or update the details for the collection you represent. Eventually, CollectionsWeb plans to conduct a survey of natural history collections as part of the RCN mentioned above. The details from this database will be useful for implementing the survey. Also, I plan to eventually give this database a slicker interface and make it a permanent fixture on the ECN website. It would be a useful tool for researchers and collection managers. |
